Cookie Notice

This is a short page, because ProSeen uses very little.

What we use

ProSeen uses a small number of cookies and browser storage items. The referral and advertising cookies described below only apply if you arrived through a referral link or one of our ads. Signing in uses authentication cookies that keep you logged in and keep your session secure. If you take one of our assessments, a cookie named ps_ar remembers the results you took in this browser, so you can open them again without an account. It holds a private key for each result and nothing else about you, and it lasts 1 year. Three small ones help the pages you use work properly: after you sign up with email, ps_verify_email holds your address for 10 minutes so the confirmation page can show where the link went; after you open a password-reset link, ps_recovery lets you choose a new password for 15 minutes and holds nothing but a signed expiry time; and when you use your dashboard, ps_tz remembers your time zone name (for example Asia/Karachi) for 1 year, so your statistics use your own calendar days. These are strictly necessary for the service to work, which is why no consent banner interrupts you for them.

Separately, when you open a professional's page, your browser keeps a small note for that visit in its session storage (not a cookie), so a refresh isn't counted as a second visit in their statistics. It holds no identifier, isn't sent to anyone, and disappears when you close the tab. Booking works the same way: once you pick a time, a note in session storage stops that being counted twice.

A few more stay on your own device and are never sent to anyone. If you save professionals to a shortlist, the list is kept in your browser's local storage until you clear it. While you take an assessment, your answers so far are kept in local storage, so a reload doesn't lose them. If a page fails to load after an update, a note in session storage makes sure it reloads only once. On your dashboard, if you choose Not now on the “Where did you hear about ProSeen?” question, ps_heard_skip remembers that for 1 year.

ProSeen's own staff tools use three more cookies (ps_nocount, ps_view_as and ps_demo_dash). They are only ever set in the browsers of ProSeen's staff, never in yours.

If you arrive through a ProSeen partner's or member's referral link, a first-party cookie remembers that link for 90 days, so the referral can be credited if you create an account. It holds only the referral code and is never shared with anyone else.

Advertising measurement

ProSeen advertises on Google. If you arrive at ProSeen by clicking one of our ads, Google's conversion measurement may set a cookie so that Google can tell us how many people who clicked went on to create a page. We use it to count sign-ups, not to build a profile of you, and we do not use it to show you ads elsewhere or to retarget you across the web.

Where the law requires your prior permission for this kind of cookie, including the EU and the UK, nothing is stored and no advertising tag loads until you agree when asked. Your answer is remembered for 90 days (ps_ad_consent), so you aren't asked again; if you agree, ps_ad notes the ad visit for the same 90 days. If you decline, or if you never came from one of our ads, no advertising cookie is set and the site works exactly the same.

What we deliberately do not use

No Google Analytics. No Meta Pixel. No LinkedIn Insight Tag. No Hotjar or session recording. No retargeting or audience-building cookies, no cross-site trackers, no fingerprinting. Page analytics shown to page owners are collected server-side with a referrer domain, a country and a device class (never an IP address or a visitor ID), not with tracking cookies. Visits to ProSeen's own pages are counted the same way. Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the browser tab also remembers where that visit came from (in session storage, cleared when you close the tab) so a sign-up can be credited to it; inside them nothing is stored.

Your choices

You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking the authentication cookies means you cannot stay signed in, and blocking the assessment cookie means you can't come back to a result you took without an account. Public pages remain fully viewable without any cookies at all. Blocking or declining the advertising cookie costs you nothing on the site.

If this changes

If ProSeen ever adds a category of cookies beyond those described here, this notice will say so first, plainly, and consent will be asked where the law requires it.
