Intellectual Property and Takedown Policy

ProSeen pages should contain only work and words their owner has the right to use. Most do. When one does not, this page explains exactly how to report it, what happens next, on what timescale, and how a page owner can respond. Every report and every counter-notice is read by a person.

If your work appears on a ProSeen page without permission, email hello@proseen.me with “takedown” in the subject and include:

  • a link to the ProSeen page (and, if possible, the specific section or image);
  • identification of the work and where the original lives (your site, portfolio, publication);
  • your name and contact details, and whether you are the rights holder or act for them;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorized, and that the information in your report is accurate.

You do not need a lawyer to file a report, and there is no fee. Reports that are plainly incomplete get a reply asking for what is missing rather than a rejection.

What happens after a report

We acknowledge takedown reports within two working days. If the report is credible, the contested content comes down while the matter is resolved; the page owner is notified with the reason and a copy of the claim (your contact details are shared only as far as the law requires or you allow). Where the whole page is the problem, the page is unpublished. Nothing is silently deleted: the owner's content is preserved so a successful counter-notice can restore it.

Trademarks and impersonation

Usernames and page content must not impersonate a person or brand or trade on a trademark that is not yours. Rights holders can report a username or page with evidence of the mark or identity concerned: a registration number, or proof that the name identifies you or your business in trade. We may reassign usernames, require edits, and remove content that creates real confusion. Pages that clearly identify themselves as fan pages, commentary or comparison are not impersonation.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe the complaint was mistaken, reply to the notice you received with an explanation and any evidence of your rights: your original files, a license, a commission agreement, or the published original under your name. A person reviews every counter-notice, normally within five working days. Content is restored where the complaint does not stand up, and the reporter is told why.

Repeat infringement

We keep a record of upheld complaints. Accounts that repeatedly publish content they have no rights to lose their pages, and in serious cases the account itself. A single honest mistake, corrected quickly, is not treated the same as a pattern.

Misuse of this process

Takedown reports are for genuine rights concerns. Reports sent to silence criticism, harass a competitor or game the directory are rejected, and senders who repeat this lose the ability to file through this route.
