How verification works
Which plans: All plans. Free shows 2 credentials on your page; Plus and Pro show more.
Ask ProSeen to check a license, certification, degree or membership so it carries a Verified by ProSeen mark.
Before you start
- Plan: every plan can ask for a check. Free shows 2 credentials on your page; Plus and Pro show more.
- The credential's verification link, or its credential ID or license number. A check needs at least one of them.
- The credential's name, who issued it and its dates.
- If you like, the certificate as a PDF or image.
What the mark means
A person at ProSeen checked the credential against the verification link you gave, or against the issuer's public register using the credential ID or license number. They also checked that the name on it matches the name on your page.
- It covers that one credential only, not your services, skills, experience or anything else on your page.
- It isn't a review of the quality of your work, and it isn't an endorsement.
- A credential without the mark may be perfectly real. It just hasn't been checked.
Ask for a check
- Open your page while you're signed in.
- Select Edit on your credentials section, or Add credentials if it's empty.
- For a new credential, select + Add credential.
- Type its name in Credential.
- Fill in Issued by.
- Set Issued, and Expires if it has an expiry date.
- Add the Verification link (optional), the Credential ID or license number (optional), or both.
- Keep Show on my page ticked.
- Tick Ask ProSeen to verify it.
- Select Save.
Add the certificate
- In the credential, select Upload certificate.
- Choose the PDF or image file.
- Select Save.
Visitors can open the certificate from your page. The check itself uses the link or the ID.
What happens next
- The credential shows Verification requested, ProSeen is checking it. in your editor. Visitors don't see that.
- ProSeen emails you the result, unless you turned off Account & page emails in Settings, under Notifications.
- Once it's verified, the mark shows beside that credential on your page.
- To withdraw a request that's still waiting, untick Ask ProSeen to verify it and save.
The mark goes away when:
- You change the credential. Editing its name, issuer, dates, link or ID removes the mark, because it's no longer the credential ProSeen checked. Ask for a new check after you save.
- It expires. Once the expiry date passes, your page shows it as expired, without the mark.
- You hide it. A credential with Show on my page turned off isn't shown at all.
If something goes wrong
- “ProSeen couldn't verify this one.” A short note says why. The credential still shows on your page without the mark. Fix the details, such as a broken link or a typo in the ID, tick Ask ProSeen to verify it again and save.
- The save asks for a verification link or a credential ID: fill in at least one of them, then save again.
- The save says the expiry date is before the issue date: check both dates.
